Newsight Imaging receives $560,000 grant from Israel’s Innovation Authority
has been awarded a new $560,000 grant by the Israel Innovation Authority in the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry to support the development of the company’s NSI5000 CMOS image sensor chip in 2018.
The grant was approved following an in-depth review of Newsight’s performance in the previous year, and of the new plans for the upcoming sensor chip.
The NSI5000 is based on Newsight’s eTOF (enhanced time-of-flight), which bridges the gap between short-distance iTOF (indirect time-of-flight) and the long‑ distance automotive requirement, by extending the dynamic range while retaining high accuracy.
NSI5000 is highly programmable and flexible. The chip offers LiDAR solutions for long-range applications for autonomous cars and ADAS, and depth cameras for smartphones and drones (unmanned aerial vehicles). Its superb processing capabilities, coupled with internal memory, enable custom-tailoring of the chip for specific solutions.
