The innovative NSI5000 is an integrated solution for long-range LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) applications. The CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) image sensor includes a top DSP (digital signal processor) controller which enables complex calculations for depth and machine vision.
NSI5000 is used in Newsight’s V-LiDAR, a cutting-edge 3D pulsed based LiDAR for automotive applications used in ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) systems and in autonomous vehicles.
It is based on Newsight’s eTOF (enhanced time-of-flight), which bridges the gap between short-distance iTOF (indirect time-of-flight) and long distance automotive requirement, by extending the dynamic range while retaining high accuracy.
NSI5000 is highly programmable and flexible. The chip offers LiDAR solutions for long-range applications for autonomous cars, ADAS and drones (unmanned aerial vehicles). Its superb processing capabilities, coupled with internal memories, enable tailoring the chip for specific solutions.
The NSI5000 chip holds all required logic for control, and synchronizes with a laser system, providing control signals, capturing reflected beam and calculating distance.
The high-speed DSP is used to support laser range-finding calculations, machine vision parameters, 3D analysis and more.
